About me
Hi, I’m Akhila. I am a fully qualified female Government Approved Driving Instructor and I am passionate about supporting my students on their journey to become safe drivers.

I live in Stroud, Gloucestershire since with my husband, our two teenagers sons and our lovely kitten, Loki who we all adore.

Being originally from Sweden, I have lived in many places both abroad and in the UK since moving here in 2002. But Stroud is by far the most beautiful place I’ve lived. I love the hill and the nature, especially as I’m a keen Nordic Walker.

Before becoming a driving instructor, I worked 13 years as an early years teacher. I’m also a trained upholsterer and have worked with project administration.

I remember that great feeling of achievement and freedom when I passed my own driving test all those years ago. I didn’t even have a car of my own to use at that point, but just the thought that ‘IF I had a car, I could now set off by my myself’. This feeling has stayed with me and is something I’d like to pass on to my students.

I chose to work with LDC because everybody is different and the LD System allows for flexibility in lessons so that you can learn to drive safely at a rate that suits you. I am keen to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible. The LD System just helps me to do this more effectively.

With my calm, friendly and relaxed way of teaching, I hope to help my students to realise their own potential to achieve their goals in the process of becoming a safe driver.
